Firefighters from the City of Orange and the Orange County Fire Authority were dispatched to a reported house fire at 704 W. Palmyra Avenue around 1 pm Wednesday.
Orange Police Officers arrived quickly and began searching for residents that were reported to possibly still be inside the house with flames shooting out of the second floor and heavy smoke through out the home.
Firefighters arrived and began an immediate attack on the flames and entered the house to search for victims. Three residents were treated by Paramedics behind the residents, which has been converted into a three apartments. One of the residents was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation, 2 others were checked and released at the scene.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down in about 15 minutes. The American Red Cross responded to assist residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. One resident believes it may have started with a an electric scooter inside the home that was being charged.
