A woman became trapped in her car under a big rig after her car hydroplaned and it spun out of control on the eastbound 91 freeway in heavy rain around 4 am. The driver of the truck told the CHP that he saw the car spinning across lanes and hit his truck. He added that it took him several hundred feet to stop the truck.
Anaheim Fire and Rescue respond with an Urban Search and Rescue Team, but Firefighters were able to get the woman out of the car without the need for extrication tools. She was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange with non life threatening injures.
All lanes of traffic on the eastbound 91 freeway at Lemon Street were stopped for about 30 minutes.
Dozens of crashes occurred in Orange County during this latest rain. The California Highway Patrol reminds motorists that most rain related accidents can be avoided by reducing you speed when driving in the rain.
