Shortly after 1:00 Saturday morning a man crossing Newport Bl. at both St. in Newport Beach was struck by a Nissan 300Z that fled the scene. The 24 year old Cypress man was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead.
Police located the suspected hit and run vehicle about a half mile away from the crash scene unoccupied.
Police believe 21-year-old Nancy Diana Flores was driving the Nissan that struck the pedestrian as he was crossing Newport Bl.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies helped Newport Beach police locate Flores in Paramount. Flores was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and hit and run resulting in death, according to a Newport Beach police.
