The Orange County District Attorney has decided to try Bradley Morales as a juvenile for his role as the driver in a crash that killed five of his friends on the trip home from a day at Knott’s Scary Farm on the night of October 4, 2014.
Prosecutors have charged Morales with five felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter in juvenile court. If convicted, he could be jailed until he turns 21. If convicted as an adult, he could have faced a decade or more in state prison.
Morales was thrown from the car during the 2 A.M. crash on the 5 Freeway near the 133 Toll Road. The car burst into flames with 5 teens still inside. Morales was found on the side of the road with serious injuries and was the only survivor.
