Orange County Sheriffs Deputies are being credited with helping stop a fire in the garage of a hillside home in Santa Ana Heights early Saturday morning.
Deputies were first to arrive at the home after a resident called 911 to report that a generator in the garage had caught fire. They battled thick smoke and used 2 garden hoses to help stop the spread of the fire in the cluttered garage of the home at 12754 Vista Panorama.
Responding fire engines from the Orange County Fire Authority and the City of Orange were somewhat slowed in their response by the tight winding roads leading to the home.
The home had reportedly been without power for as long as 2 months and the residents were using the generator to supply electricity to the home.
Fire Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
