MAJOR ACCIDENT CLOSES PCH

A man driving a Jeep Cherokee crashed into a light pole causing it to fall into the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway at Reef Point in Newport Beach. Traffic was closed in all directions as Firefighters freed the trapped driver.

The seriously injured man was transported by ambulance to a trauma center. The southbound lanes of PCH were expected to be closed for several hours.
