WALMART’S THANKSGIVING FEAST HITS RECORD LOW PRICE

Walmart revealed on Tuesday that its Thanksgiving meal basket for 2025 will cost under $4 per person, the lowest price since the program began in 2022. The basket, which serves 10, includes over 20 items like a 13.5-pound Butterball turkey at 97 cents per pound—the cheapest since 2019—plus classic holiday items such as stuffing, cranberries, green beans, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie ingredients. The total cost is less than $40.

This year’s price is a notable reduction from 2024’s basket, which was around $7 per person. The move comes as retailers ramp up promotions for the holiday season, with shoppers still feeling the impact of inflation that surged at a 40-year high under President Joe Biden.Walmart’s announcement follows a comparable holiday meal deal from Aldi, the U.S. division of the German discount chain, highlighting growing competition among grocers targeting cost-conscious consumers.“

Walmart is setting a new benchmark with our most budget-friendly holiday meal yet,” the company stated, adding that millions have purchased the basket since its launch three years ago. The retailer is also expanding its holiday lineup with one-click basket options, including a gluten-free Thanksgiving meal, a health-focused basket with high-protein options tied to the Trump administration’s Make America Healthy Again initiative, and a prime rib dinner package.
