PEDESTRIAN KILLED ON 57 FREEWAY IN ANAHEIM

The California Highway Patrol began receiving 911 calls reporting a man walking in traffic lanes on the southbound 57 freeway in Anaheim near Katella around 10:15 pm Saturday night.

Within minutes callers were reporting that man had been struck by multiple cars as he walked in traffic lanes. Arriving Anaheim and Orange fire units found the man in the middle of the southbound freeway and Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

All southbound lanes of the 57 freeway were closed for nearly 10 hours as the CHP and Coroner investigated the incident.
