SUSPECTED DUI DRIVER CAUSES BIG MESS IN FULLERTON

A suspected DUI driver is in custody after an accident that closed Chapman Avenue and sent 2 people to the hospital.

The accident was reported to Police at 12:46 a.m. on Chapman Avenue just west of Commonwealth Avenue. Police were in the area at the time of the crash responding to complaints of a large party.

The collision caused the driver of a large box truck carrying Amazon packages to lose control causing the truck to roll onto its side. The driver and passenger in that truck climbed out the passenger window and were helped down by area residents before Firefighters arrived.

The driver of the truck and the suspected DUI driver were both transported to a hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries according to police.

Chapman Avenue was closed to all traffic in both directions for several hours as Police investigated the accident and crews cleaned up the mess.
