RESCUE OF THE WEEK: MEET AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER, DIAMOND

Looking for a pet to bring home and make part of the family? Orange County rescues and shelters have more than a fair share of pets in need of loving homes. The Orange County Independent will be regularly highlighting pets that might be exactly who you’re looking for.

Diamond is a 2-year-old pit bull who was rescued as a stray, found wandering pregnant and hungry. In 2015 she gave birth to nine healthy and happy puppies. They all found homes and now it’s her turn. Diamond loves swimming pools, going for rides in the car and giving lots of kisses. She would love her own yard to play in and couch to relax on. She loves all people – including kids – but would do best as an only dog. She has been working with a dog psychologist to perfect her puppy manners. She has learned a lot and wants to show off her skills for a family of her own.

She’s available through Barks of Love Animal Rescue in Orange County. The rescue’s adoption fee is $200.
