May 27 will be a good day for theme park lovers as they’ll have their chance to mingle with Marvel superheroes and characters from the Wild West.
New attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, including multiple ride experiences and music inspired by the movies’ soundtracks, opens that day at Disney California Adventure Park. Also starting May 27, guests will get the chance to mingle with superheroes from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Avengers” movies as part of Summer of Heroes.
Summer of Heroes includes the Avengers Training Initiative, featuring Black Widow and Hawkeye; Heroic Encounter: Black Widow; and Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action, including themed merchandise, food and beverage items available throughout Hollywood Land. Year-round superhero experiences in California Adventure include Super Hero Encounters, where guests can get up-close-and-personal with Groot, Captain America and Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!, with Star-Lord starting up a dance party.
When you’re finished rubbing shoulders with Marvel characters, head over to Knott’s Berry Farm’s Ghost Town Alive! experience, which returns to the park starting May 27 and runs through Sept. 4. With new storylines, characters and activities, guests can immerse themselves as part of the Wild West action set in the town of Calico.
“Ghost Town Alive! has taken Knott’s summer entertainment and the idea of ‘playing in a theme park’ to a whole new level,” said Knott’s Berry Farm General Manager Jon Storbeck in a press release. “Guests of all ages will have the opportunity to not just interact with the citizens of Calico, but will have the ability to influence how the story takes shape.”
Other highlights include the new Snoopy’s Magnificent Magical Revue, a magic show starring Snoopy and magician Greg Wilson – select dates between June 10 and Aug. 20 in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre – and the return of the Traveling Circus, set on the Calico Mine stage in Ghost Town, including 30 minutes of trapeze, tightrope, aerial acrobatics, trampoline and more on select dates between June 10 and Aug. 20.
OC theme parks will keep you busy this summer.
