SUSPECTED DRUNK DRIVER BARELY ESCAPES BURNING WRECK ON THE 57 FREEWAY

According to the California Highway Patrol, a suspected drunk driver managed to crawl out the window of his burning car with only seconds to spare after he ran off the southbound 57 freeway around 5 AM Saturday morning. The car left the roadway near the Katella Avenue offramp in Anaheim and struck a tree head on.

CHP Officers arrived quickly and found the driver standing on the shoulder of the freeway with a broken arm.

Anaheim Firefighters arrived and treated the man while other Firefighters put out the fire. All traffic on southbound side of the freeway was stopped for about 20 minutes. The injured driver was transported to UCI Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
