DRIVERS LICENSE TEST ENDS IN SPECTACULAR CRASH AT COSTA MESA DMV

A young female driver taking her drivers license test was involved in a crash that left a trail of destruction at the Costa Mesa Department of Motor Vehicles office on 19th Street around 4:30 pm Tuesday afternoon.

The crash sent a pickup truck careening into the busy DMV parking lot where it landed on top of a car and sent bystanders running in fear of their lives.

Costa Mesa Police are investigating the cause of the crash that left 2 people injured and damaged several cars. A traffic light control box was also destroyed exposing live electrical wires, causing the traffic signals to go dark.

According to the Costa Mesa Fire Department, the pickup truck caught fire as a result of the crash, but it was quickly extinguished.

The female driver and the DMV Examiner administering her test were transported to HOAG Hospital in Newport Beach with minor injuries. It’s unknown if she passed the test.
